This tour leads without detours directly into the Gobi, almost to the Chinese border. Every driver can fully live out his off-road passion here, sometimes you drive in sand passages, then again on gravel. The tour plan also takes you to the sites of dinosaur bones and offers you the opportunity to get to know the way of life of the nomads in the Gobi. In the second part of the tour we will reach the central part of Mongolia and its historical sights. We drive through the mountains of the Archangai range and may cross some rivers. The tour is thus the ideal beginner’s trip for those who want to get a comprehensive overview of the country and its people, combining desert and steppe.

We will explore the endless variety of desert landscapes in the Gobi by motorcycle on an enduro tour. Motorcycling in the Gobi, is not really correct to describe, if you have not experienced it yourself. The challenge lies in the route. Alternating between fast tracks, and then again something more challenging. Whereby our trips are not about “making distance”, but rather with “Enduro hiking” is to be described. The riding ability of each individual in the group ultimately decides the route requirements. This tour leads without detours directly into the Gobi, almost to the Chinese border.

The dream of the challenge "Gobi" stimulates the imagination and gets the circulation going. This motorcycle tour is tailored for the desert lover who wants to cross the vastness of the Gobi by motorcycle, and who is also willing to travel on lonely tracks. He will be rewarded by the uniqueness of the Gobi. The ride to the difficult to reach canyon formed by meltwater at the edge of the Nemegt mountains is one of the highlights of this tour. Wind and sand gave the canyon the final touch. The area around the Nemegt Mountains is very sparsely populated. Here you will hardly meet nomads. From the Nemegt, you will return to the more northerly part via less traveled roads. This tour connects all interesting points of the Mongolian Gobi.

1.Day	Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, check-in at the hotel, introduction round, program discussion. After that we will visit Ulaanbaatar. You will see the famous Gandan Monastery with the 27 mtr. high Buddha statue, the monastery museum of the Tschojdshjin – Lama, the important Lama in the history of Mongolian Buddhism and a small city tour are also on the program. In the evening you will visit a folklore performance with traditional musical instruments, snake girls and the famous throat singing.
2.Day	Departure towards Mandelgobi via “Baga gazriin chuluu”, the Small Earth Mother Stones
3.Day	Continue towards Dalandzagad through the Mongolian grass steppe. In Mongolia, the steppe is the predominant type of landscape. It occupies about 80 percent of the country’s land area and serves as Mongolia’s most important natural resource, as the grasslands provide extensive grazing grounds. Hardly any forests thrive in the dry climate, but the grasslands are all the more lush. We will also use this day to take a deeper look into the nomadic life. Overnight stay Tsagaan Suwarga in the region of Tsogt Ovoo in the Mongolian steppe.
4.Day	Arrival in Dalandsagdad, sightseeing, drive to the Vulture Gorge, overnight stay near the gorge.
5.Day	Visit to the Vulture Gorge (footpath). The river that flows through the Vulture Gorge produces so much ice in the winter, which does not melt until well into the summer. We will explore the gorge and learn about the flora and fauna in the small natural history museum at the entrance of the gorge. After that we will cross the Gurvan Saikhan Mountains towards Khongorijn Els. Overnight stay at the edge of the sand dunes.
6.Day	Passage through the sand dunes, excursion to a nomadic family. Afternoon: Nomadic life up close.
7.Day	Bypassing the southern foothills of the Altai Mountains in the direction of Bulgan and Bajandsag, spending the night in the unique rock formations of Bajandsag
8.Day	Drive to Ongij Monastery and visit the monastery ruins. Before we reach the monastery, or better the monastery ruins, we drive through the plain of Ongii and past the Ulaan Nuur (red lake). However, the Ulaan Nuur is only periodically present as a lake, as it is only fed by the rainwater of the Gobi. In the late afternoon we reach Ongii Monastery, which was once one of the largest monasteries in Mongolia. Today some monks are trying to rebuild the monastery. We will have the opportunity to talk to the monks and visit the monastery complex.
9.Day	Departure towards Arwajcheer, shopping and continue to Ulaangol Waterfall.
10.Day	Drive to the Orkhon waterfalls. These waterfalls were formed by volcanic activity and the entire Ochon Valley is extremely beautiful. There will also be enough time for a hike around the falls today. The drive to the falls can be very exciting, as we have to cross a river beforehand that is more or less deep, depending on the water level. In the afternoon we will drive through the Orkhon valley to the former capital of Mongolia “Karakorum”.
11.Day	In the morning, detailed sightseeing of Karakorum. Only under Ugedai Khan, the son and successor of Genghis Khan, Karakorum developed into the first capital of the Mongol Empire. By him the important residence was developed to a real city and from 1235 additionally provided with a fortification. In Karakorum also the Chingges Khan following, cruelly warlike and tyrannical Khans showed their second, completely different face. Due to their tolerant attitude towards everything new and unknown, their capital in the 13th century became not only the control center of the imperial administration and a center of trade and arts and crafts, but also a melting pot of different religions, cultures and peoples. At noon we drive to another interesting archaeological site, “Khöschöö Tsaidam” the burial place of the ancient Turkish general Bilgä Chagan. Here excavations are going on under Turkish supervision. You will be able to see many interesting findings from the time before Chingges Khan.
12.Day	One day at Lake Ogii Nuur for recreation, smaller excursions in the surroundings of the lake.
13.Day	Rückfahrt nach Ulaanbatar. Ankunft in Ulaan baatar, Einchecken im Hotel, Rückgabe der Motorräder

2.Day	Takeover of the motorcycles, technical briefing. Getting ready the vehicles and off in the direction of the Small Earth Mother Stones -Baga gazriin chuluun- .Just south of Ulaanbaatar, begins the grass steppe, in which we dive. The route will take us alternately across wide plains and smaller mountains. At the holy mountain we will have lunch. Baga gazriin chuluu, this probably unique area in Mongolia, impresses with its fascinating mountain scenery. As if randomly distributed in the terrain, there are picturesque rock formations, which got their own character by wind and water erosion.
3.Day	Continue to the palace ruins of Süm Khökh Burd. The drive for over barely recognizable dirt roads towards the south. The temple “Süm Khökh Burd” was built in the 10th century on an island in the middle of a small lake. The stones for the temple were interestingly brought from 300 KM further south. Around the temple there is a more or less large lake, depending on the rain situation. Here bird lovers get their money’s worth. Continuation in the direction of Dalandzagad through the Mongolian grass steppe. In Mongolia the steppe is the predominant type of landscape. 4.Day	Passing through a smaller foothill, with beautiful valleys via Tsogt – Ovoo. Around noon, the first contact with the many crescent dunes around the Vulture Gorge arrival in Dalanzadgad, continue towards the Vulture Gorge, overnight near the gorge.
5.Day	Visit to the Vulture Gorge (footpath). The river that flows through the Vulture Gorge produces so much ice in the winter, which does not melt until well into the summer. We will explore the gorge and learn about the flora and fauna in the small natural history museum at the entrance of the gorge. We will continue our journey to the southern Gobi. Now it becomes real desert. Overnight stay in the region of the village of Noyon.
6.Day	From Noyon we go to the small village of Guvantes, our southernmost point of the tour. Here we have to refuel and supply ourselves with drinking water before we head for the Nemengt mountains.
7.Day	A day in the gorges of the Nemengt Mountains. We will explore the unique canyon system formed by water and wind with our motorcycles. Here is also the possibility to tie dinosaur bones.
8.Day	Ride from the gorges of the Nemengt to the sand dune Hongorijn Els, which we cross in the evening. Since it goes downhill is not so problematic

3.Day	Takeover of the motorcycles and departure in the direction of the great earth stones – I gazriin chuluu. Overnight stay in the vastness of the Mongolian steppe
4.Day	Continue towards Tsagaan Suwarga Canyon. Here we have for the first time the possibility to find dinosaur bones in the canyons.
5.Day	Continue towards Dalandzagad via Tsogt-Ovoo Arrival in Dalandzagad, sightseeing, continue towards Vulture Gorge, overnight near the gorge.
6.Day	Hike through the Bearded Vulture Gorge. In the gorge there are still large masses of ice well into the summer, which were created by a small river in winter. You also have the opportunity to observe bearded vultures, ibexes and other animals here. A small museum at the entrance of the gorge provides information about the wildlife and the turbulent past of the Gobi. Today you will drive through the Gurvan Saikhan. During this day’s stage the "mountain goats" among the participants will get their money’s worth. In the afternoon we will reach the southern side of the mountains and we will continue to the small village of Noyan in the southern Gobi.
7.Day	Continue through the southern Gobi to the village of Gurvantes.
8.Day	Drive south, almost to the Chinese border – total desert. On the way you will be able to see an old salt extraction plant, where according to traditional principle, water from a saline spring is naturally evaporated until a solid salt crust remains. A stop at the really extremely cold springs of Naran Daats and then we continue to the Tsulganai oases. This oasis area is uninhabited and with a little luck we will be able to swim in one of the lakes created by the rainwater in the evening.
9.Day	Drive north to Bayanling. The way leads us through a unique mountain world, which is still completely untouched. We will explore this unique area with our motorcycles.
10.Day	Today we will go along the Gobi Altai Nuruu Mountains to the village we will continue to the rock formation "Bichigt Khad". In the canyons of Bichigt Khad there are extensive areas with rock paintings, which we will visit. At noon we will drive to the "White Cave". The Tsagaan Agui cave is somewhat hidden in the Tsakhir mountains. Here we will find the traces of Stone Age people and after that we will drive through a unique rocky landscape in the Gobi to Oorg Nuur, one of the four Gobi lakes.
11.Day	Today it will be the somewhat sandy day. From Oorg nuur we will drive a bit north to the small village of Baruunbajan ulaan. This village is located directly at a small salt lake, which we will visit. Then we will drive across the Gobi to the highest mountain in the region, Tevish Uul. There we will make a detour to Tevish Uul to see the still little explored rock paintings.
12.Day	Today we will stay in the region of Tevish Uuls. We will not eat big kilometers today, but we will look for rock drawings in the valleys of the Tevish Uuls. This day is also a small "recovery day" after the long stages in the Gobi.
13.Day	From Tevish Uul we drive to the sand dune "Chongoriin Els, or singing dune. Whenever the wind blows over the sharp grade of the dune, a more or less plaintive sound is produced. The "exciting" thing about this dune is the fact that the wind deposits the gobi sand behind a mountain range and a river keeps shifting this sand. Through this "fight" between water and sand, new terrain formations are created again and again. In the evening there is the possibility to climb the up to 400 mtr. high sand dune and enjoy a wonderful sunset.
14.Day	Today we will recover from the desert tour. We have the whole day and will visit the big sand dune Khongorin Else. Those who like can also enjoy a camel ride….
15.Day	Continue through the Gobi Desert to the "red Cliffs", which we will reach in the late afternoon. The "red Cliffs" are also called the dinosaur graveyard, because here the first major dinosaur finds were made during the Gobi expedition of Sven Hedin. Nearby is also the largest saxaul tree forest in the Gobi. The saxaul tree is an extremely slow growing tree, which has adapted perfectly to the situation in the Gobi.
16.Day	Drive to Ongij Monastery and visit the monastery ruins. This monastery was once one of the largest. Today only ruins can be visited and one can only imagine the former size. With a lot of commitment monks are slowly rebuilding this monastery. We have enough time to talk with the monks about their situation and Buddhism. We continue our journey in the direction of Arwajcheer.
17.Day	Today we leave the Gobi and drive north to the district capital Arwaicheer. There we have once again the opportunity to supplement our food. On the market there is a colorful hustle and bustle. After the sightseeing of the city, we drive on mountain roads into the mountains.
18.Day	Today we will drive through the very beautiful Orkhon valley to the Ulaangoll waterfall. The waterfall is located in the middle of a lava field and the landscape around the waterfall is uniquely pretty. We will have our lunch break on the banks of the Orkhon River. We can buy fresh yogurt and yak cheese from the nomads who live in this valley. The yak is very common in this mountainous region. After that we will continue our journey through the valley to Karakorum.
19.Day	Sightseeing in and around Karakorum, continue to a uniquely located small lake, overnight at the lake.
20.Day	Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, check-in at the hotel, return of the motorcycles.
21.Day	Early return flight
