Horseback trip - On the road with horses
Tour 300
The horseback riding tour of Steppenfuchs Reisen goes through a very beautiful part of Mongolia, which is ideal for a varied and exciting horseback tour. The trip leads almost always along the Orkhon, one of the biggest rivers in Mongolia. The region where we ride is located in the central part of Mongolia and is characterized by alternating extensive meadows and forest locations. The tour with the horses starts at a horse breeder’s family at Lake Ogii Nuur and leads in several stages to Karakorum. As far as possible, we will avoid dirt roads and tracks. Thereby we come into regions, which are visited otherwise hardly by tourists. Also we have, since we are on the way with the horse, very many contacts to the nomads in this region. The individual stages on this tour are chosen in such a way that they can be mastered by man and horse without great effort. During this trip, each participant will intensively experience the free life in the steppe. Each participant has two horses at his disposal for the whole time, which he has to take care of, of course.
Description
When asked about Mongolia, what immediately comes to mind? First, Genghis Khan and second, horses. The horse is still the most common means of transportation in the countryside. Mongolia is probably the only country in the world where, to this day, there are significantly more horses than inhabitants, at about 3.2 million. Mongolian horses are very robust and therefore cope very well with the climatic conditions.

An exact route cannot be determined for this trip, because the route depends on whether there is enough water and feed for the horses. The tour will be done without an escort vehicle.
